My Sony google tv is recognizing my wifi, then when I type in the password to connect it stays on the "connecting to Internet" page, it won't go any further. Any suggestions?

    Thanks for your time!

Well, you can try to reset the GTV device by holding alt+cntrl+delete.
If that don't work, try a modem reset.
If that don't work, let us know.

I am having the same issue. Trying to set up my new Sony NSX-40GT1. Firmware version 2.1-update1. I can find my wireless, but just stays on connecting to internet forever. Tried holding ctrl-alt-del on remote to reset TV, but nothing happened. Any ideas?

How long should it take to connect? I shouldn't have to wait a super long time should I? Just want to make sure I am not being impatient.

    Update:

I was able to connect using the general wifi through my apartment, but of course would like to connect through my personal secured wifi. I tried connecting directly to the modem and it still did not work. It is a Ubee D3.0 modem provided by Comcast.

I suggest both of you log in your wireless router and see if you have mac filtering turned on by any chance as that is the only thing I can think of at the moment that would cause that problem with both of you. If it's on , turn it off and log in , then add your google tv mac address to your list and turn it back on if need be.

I would think it would not mean a thing when hard wired to the modem like you did rolson21 but you never know.

Can you connect to the router with other devices that were not setup for it to begin with ? Is there any chance there is a guest mode option on it that you can play with and use for the google tv. I am not that familiar with that modem/router rolson21 so I am just throwing out ideas in case one of them helps you.

By the way , once connected , updating the google tv does not take long. It took about 15 to 20 minutes or so on my 6 meg connection.

By the way rolson21, ctrl-alt-del does not reset the tv that I know of but just reboots it. To reset it you need to press FN+1 at the same time to bring up settings and scroll down to the bottom and choose about - and choose factory data reset to reset the tv to factory defaults.
