Chrome has been freezing for about a month or so. - Factory reset would make it work for about a week. "Jackson" (they're all named Jackson) from Vizio had me do some 'double reset' which worked for about 2 weeks. But now it's not helping. So now I either have to send them the device, and wait for another... or float them $100 and they will send me one immediately. My gripe- I put faith in their product, but yet I'm the one who is being treated as untrustworthy. (Everything else works, Youtube, Vudu, etc... just not chrome) Any last minute ideas? I'm about to throw this thing in the garbage!
Try going to your system settings and Force Stop & Clear Data from the Chrome app. Also try rebooting your router and rebooting (unplugging) your Co-Star. If none of those work than try the factory reset one more time before you give up.
I've done the force stop a couple of times now. And cleared my data. I've seen the idea of rebooting the router before... but never have, because I have no problem connecting to the internet, only chrome itself is freezing. I guess it's worth a try.
If it doesn't work, see if you can return the unit. These replacements are reaching astronomical numbers. Try a GS-7 or another Android device. I tried the Vizio after the first onslaught of defective devices and still had a unit that eventually failed. I do know what Vizio is doing, but I do know that if one of their TVs performed the way yer device has, they would have nullified their contract w/the company involved for the discrepancy shortly thereafter. GTV should be enjoyed, Not pampered... Carl
