so I got a new tv and when adding my new tv to the revue but i cannot control the on/off for the new tv, so i cannot turn the tv on or off form the logitech keyboard, when adding the tv it doesn't even ask for in any of the steps to press the on or off button for the tv, am i missing something or going mad?

anyone got any ideas, its pretty frustrating having to use the tv remote as well as the keyboard

What model of TV did you buy? I have a Vizio TV that is about 3 years old and I can control the TV on/off with my Revue keyboard. Have you tried going to sytem settings ---> TV & AV receiever ----> entering the brand and model number of your TV? Try rebooting after you've added it.

Ok are you trying to control your TV through the live TV button on the Revue keyboard? (That's the button with the picture of the TV - it's next to the volume control button). I just control my TV on/off through the plain TV button on the top right of the keyboard (it's next to the STB button).

Eferz gave this explanation in the Logitech Revue forum:

"The Live TV button toggles to the HDMI input of the Logitech Revue. So, in order to to control your TV in such a manner, you'd have to setup the your television as if it was a pseudo set-top box in the TV source control panel instead of the TV & AV Recevier. It will probably require you to teach three of the IR signals from the original TV remote for it to identify the correct device profile from the Harmony Database. So, I would recommend that during this process that you should cover the IR sensor on the television."

I think the following thread might be of assistance to you:

I had a similar problem. I was testing the Hisense Pulse. Then I switched back to the Revue. The channels on my DVR kept changing. It was weird... Finally I noticed the IR booster that was sitting in front of my DVR. I removed it and everything went back to normal.

Yer post reminds us of the KISS rule...

    Thanks for the laugh, Allan!
