My Asus Cube's remote has a dedicated netflix button, which I do not use...
so wondering if I can remap it (or even other buttons)!
    Possible?

    Thanks!

I'm guessing either there is no way to do this or no one has tried...

    Just saw this on Google+:

You have to root the Cube to do it.

Note: I have not tried this on my unit.

Ah! so close :) I've not rooted it...as I'm not knowledgeable enough to deal with possible issues of the rooting process!

Out of curiosity, what a major pros and cons of rooting?

P.S. By following your link found a tip there to get my cube rebate approved... so thanks for that :)

I haven't had the courage to root one of my GTVs either (though I have rooted phones and tablets in past).

As to pros and cons... obviously one pro is that you can remap the netflix key :)! I've also heard that one can modify the Flash Player to bypass website blocks on streaming media sites, but have not investigated the details of this. Using PlayOn on my PC server generally works around this issue for me.

As to cons.. when/if you do a system update, you'll most likely lose root. And there is a chance you could brick (kill) your system in the rooting process.

Yes, that last part is why I'm not even considering it at this time :)
Blocked media sites you mentioned are the big networks I suppose...this is non-issue for me since I use Tivo for that (still investigating if inserting GTV in the middle helps or hurts my needs)
