Perhaps a major missing piece of hardware is a Bluetooth chip. Can the Sony Google TV support a Bluetooth USB dongle? Will it ever be able to? I use Bluetooth audio streaming and would like it to work with this TV.

    Any ideas? Thanks

This is a great idea it should be able to use a USB dongle for bluetooth to add functionality, or even better integrate it into the tv itself like apple did on their devices later down the road.

why was I under the impression that the TV had bluetooth... I think I read somewhere that the remote was bluetooth. I was suspicious of that being untrue but shrugged it off since it doesn't need line of sight, nor needs to even be in the same room.

So if the remote isn't Bluetooth, what is it? Cause there aren't any bluetooth settings on the tv nor labels anywhere so I'm just wondering.

Both Logitech and Sony is using RF technology for their remotes, neither one is using Bluetooth. Logitech is using Unify 2.4Ghz technology, but I don't know which RF protocol is being used for Sony's Google TV products.

This seems like such an obvious thing to overlook. I purchased a USB dongle, but it looks like it requires software to work. Has anyone figured this out???

It is probably because your wireless mouse has a dongle that allows it to be used as a USB HID device. I believe the original intention of the thread is to pair the a Bluetooth device directly to the Google TV which is not supported.

Not without some sort of converter or adapter. None of the Google TV devices have Bluetooth radios built into them. So, you'd have to use some sort of audio to Bluetooth adapter.
