I bought The new Sony box NSZ-GS7. :p
I tried to watch a movie on the Sony network in HD.The movie was buffering the whole way through .Stop and go again and again.
You may say it is my Internet connection, nope I have 25 meg down load speed . I also have play station 3 , xbox ,Samsung smart TV , Vizo blue ray player with VUDU player installed. I have know problem watching pay per view in HD on my other equipment .
I have Verizon Fios ,The DVR button dose not work on your remote .Also I can not get to my favorite channels on your remote. My Verizon DVR model number QIP7232-p2

I am still not sure If i should keep this box or return it
Do you test this box before you put it on the market
I also have the logitech revue .
I will give you credit the Sony nsz-gs7 is much better then the revue
I hope Sony is working on these problems

As a potential buyer of this box I am holding off to see what gets fixed and what doesn't? On the plus side I had a chance to play with one for a few minutes and the pinch to zoom is awesome and I love the feel of the remote and it's appearance.

As a troubleshooting measure - can you please try connecting directly to modem by ethernet - and see if you still have the same problem with your Sony GTV box?

Good idea Catfish this is what many of us do with the Revue. Also when you launch a video press pause and wait a few minutes to buffer and see if this helps.

Can you explain what you mean .I am using a wired connection . My router ,D link DIR 655.using cat6 cable
All of my equipment is wired . I will tell you when I turned on the wireless, the movie player a little better ,using both connections at the same time. But still stop and go the whole way through. This was a pay per view movie off the Sony network using the GS7.

What App runs Movies on the Sony Device? I know that you use the TV and Movies App to search for a movie but what App actually serves up the content?

Try factory resetting your router and see if that helps. If that doesn't help - then as a troubleshooting measure try removing your router from your set-up (connect your Sony box directly to modem).

Try this: All Apps, Settings, Applications, Running Services and turn off as many Apps that are runnung in the background as you possibly can to free up resources and your GTV device should be more zippy. Note every time you reboot you may need to do this again.

There were many posts on the forum about GTV users having issues after the 3.2 update - many of which were solved by factory resetting their router (or switching to a different router). This even though as you mentioned PS3, Xbox and other services worked fine.

I'm not sure if factory resetting your router will help - but it has helped many other GTV users - so it is a way to test whether your problem is related to your router or not. (To be clear your router might be OK generally speaking - however there could be an issue with the way GTV interacts with your router). Once we know that for sure - then we can look elsewhere if the problem isn't solved.

I would also suggest trying a factory reset of your Sony GTV box.

Please tell me what App actually plays the movies and then try to uninstall/reinstall this App.

I'm not sure if your question was directed to me - but if it was the answer is no. I only have the Logitech Revue box.

I believe revue5 has the new Sony GTV box. So hopefully he (or somebody else with the gs7) can test this and post their results here.

Sony really blew it with this device. Sent mine back after one week.

First electronic device I've ever returned in my life....
