-- Streaming players are quickly growing market, with devices like the Google Chromecast and Roku Player holding half of the media center market. However, most players are limited by the apps they can access. However, the Andromedia set-top box, created by Chicago resident Tynan Overstreet, has an answer.

The Andromedia is an open-source set-top box that turns your TV into an Android media player. Users will also be able to download apps from the Google App Store and Amazon App Store. According to Overstreet, the box will provide users with the functionality to do more than just watch videos. It will also be able to play games, access the Web, and stream music and video.

The Andromedia is built into the Odroid U3+, a single board computer from South Korean company HardKernel. According to Overstreet, the Odroid U3+ has 10x more processing power in a smaller form factor than the Raspberry Pi. The OdroidU3+ features a quad-core, 1.72-GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, up to 64GB storage. Plus, this little box will be compatible with multiple remotes.
