Amazon's Kindle Fire tablet to allow Hulu+ TV streaming - latimes.com

So how is it that Google TV (that has been out for over a year now) can't manage to sign a deal for Hulu + - while the Amazon Kindle Fire is brand new - and Amazon has already managed to sign a deal For Hulu+???

I'm guessing a lot of that has to do to the ARM-based, dual-core OMAP CPU inside the Kindle Fire. First of all Hulu already has Android apps for Phones and Tablets as listed from their site below.

    • G2
    • HTC Evo 3D
    • HTC Evo 4G
    • HTC Flyer tablet
    • HTC Incredible 2
    • HTC Inspire 4G
    • HTC MyTouch 4G
    • HTC Sensation
    • HTC Thunderbolt
    • LG Revolution
    • LG G2x
    • Motorola Atrix
    • Motorola Droid II
    • Motorola Droid III
    • Motorola Droid Bionic
    • Motorola Droid X
    • Motorola Droid X2
    • Nexus One
    • Nexus S
    • Vizio 8-inch tablet
    • ..and more to come
All of these Android devices are ARM based products, so it wouldn't take much for them to tune their app for device compatibility. Where as, the Google TV platform has an Intel CE4100 series processor and is not binary compatible with the ARM. Furthermore, Google has disallowed the use of the NDK for Google TV platform which further hinders Hulu's development possibilities.

Of course, the problem could also be a matter of legal or political issue with their respective content holders. Unfortunately, I can only guess at that for a possibility as that's not my field of expertise.
