Anyone have the apk file for this to see if it will sideload onto other Google TV devices?

I'm pretty sure that sideloading the new Amazon GTV app won't work - this is because videos viewed through the app will require the PlayLater DRM feature.

Google will be adding the PlayLater DRM to only the second generation GTV devices with an upcoming update. LG GTV televisions already have it.

Interesting that Google now owns Widevine (which has it's own DRM platform). PlayLater is a Microsoft platform - but it appears to be the "hot" DRM platform at the moment - So IMO Google was forced to go with that if they wanted to bring the Amazon GTV app to fruition.

    Thanks for the info.

Really disappointing that it will not come to NSZ-GT1 as that is the my main Google TV device that I use. I also have the NSZ-GS7 but that is in a secondary room and doesn't get much use.

I believe n the exclusion of first gen devices, and the choice of the specific cost for gen 2 devices, is because of special secure hardware.
